Hunter College student, Marilyn Louis, is seeking alternative looking women for an art photography composition she is working with in her “Women and Media”class.  She is collaborating with Brianna Kilgore, a pop culture and fashion photographer on this project, along with other models and hair/makeup people.

Criteria:

• Black and/or multi-racial women of African descent
• women of all sizes (petite to plus-size), shapes, and skin tones
• variant hair textures (no weaves, wigs or chemically-straighten hair)
• open to tattoos, scars, freckles, and/or birthmarks, stretch marks, body hair, etc.
• ages 20-35 years old
• comfortable in posing nude for this project
• open to doing an on-camera interview and answer some questions the day of shoot

The shoot will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011. The purpose of this project is to dispel the pervasive and stereotypical images that mainstream mass media perpetually shows about black women/women of color and their bodies. The end result will be to create a video slide/collage of these image to present as my final project.

The photos will not be used for commercial purpose, only for this class project.This is an unpaid photo project.
