This is the Brooklyn premiere of the film More Than A Month, a film by Shukree Hassan Tilghman, which will be followed by a discussion with the Tilghman.
The 29-year-old African-American filmmaker sets out on a cross-country campaign to end Black History Month. Through this tongue-in-cheek journey, he investigates what the treatment of history tells us about race and equality in a “post-racial” America.
Tickets: Free and open to the public (register on-line to attend at info@kumbletheater.org). For additional information email community@brooklyn.liu.edu.
This screening is presented in recognition of Black History Month. Sponsored by LIU Brooklyn (Office of the Provost, Africana Studies Program and Kumble Theater) and YWCA of Brooklyn in association with WNET and ITVS.
