The 2008 Presidential Election was historic and this election is just as important. The candidates have diverse opinions on important issues such as the process to revitalize the economy and healthcare, especially with regards to women. Everyone who can vote should VOTE! Everyone should be near a television and among individuals to discuss what the future of America will look like after Tuesday, November 6th.

Join TNE and Friends as we host Election Night Out.

Food and Drink Specials are Available All Night.

Gather with friends as we watch the results of this election live on an
84 inch projection screen as well as 13 plasma tvs throughout.

There will not be a bad seat at Chelsea Manor. The channels viewed will include but are not limited to CNN, MSNBC, and ABC.

DJ Commish will be spinning at this event until the results are reported.

Lastly, with NYC and the surrounding towns still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy we will collect monetary donations from those willing to support the Red Cross relief efforts.

Join the Young and Powerful for Obama’s “Vision NYC: Obama For America Fundraising Event & Rising Star Awards Reception”. This event will be a night of socializing, art, music and more to help raise funds for our 44th President Barack Obama’s campaign and the efforts to keep moving the country forward.

This years recipients include a mix of men and women who exemplify the qualifications for this award. Award recipients include, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Assemblyman & Congressional Candidate Hakeem Jeffries, Peggy Dodson, the Creator and Founder of the Urban Broadcasting Company, Marvin Bing the Northwest Regional Director for the NAACP, Stevan “Coach” Lynn the executive producer of Dare to Dream, and Uraidah Hassani, the Founder & Executive Director of The Women Worldwide Initiative. In addition to the honorees, State Senator Eric Adams will serve as a guest speaker and invited guests include Speaker of New Jersey State Assembly Sheila Oliver, Obama Victory Fund Trustee, and NJ White House Surrogate.

A live performance by international singing sensation Belinda Munro will also round out the evening events.

Red carpet will begin at 6pm. Complimentary cocktails and appetizers will be served from 6pm to 8pm.

Young and Powerful for Obama is an organization that started in 2007 when Barack Obama declared his candidacy for president. The organization raised almost $200,000 during 2007-2008 with several fundraising events. Now with his second campaign underway, Young and Powerful for Obama are looking to surpass their goal of raising $250,000 over the course of several fundraisers in Chicago, New York, DC, Atlanta, L.A., Cleveland, Miami, Charlotte, NC, and Springfield, IL.

Please join YP4C, the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, New York Chapter, the Morehouse Manhattan Alumni Association, Jon Quick and the JI Group as we host the first Presidential Debate watch party at the Carlton Hotel on Wednesday October 3rd from 6 pm to 11 pm. The Carlton Hotel is located at 88 Madison Avenue. It is a free watch party and we expect to have a number of politically interested young professionals,
media and special guests.
Superhero DJ Jon Quick will be providing the music.
Two 50 foot monitors will be used to view the debate!
The actual debate starts at 9pm.

In addition, please be aware that Friday, October 12th is your last day available to register to vote in NYC. We will have representatives from the city available with the appropriate forms and information to help you register to vote or change your address, etc. Also, it is important to note that this is not a partisan event. This event is about understanding the issues and making an informed decision on who to vote for on November 6th. The purpose of the watch party is not to advocate for either candidate specifically. Supporters of President Obama and Governor Romney are both welcome to attend and participate in the process.
